Two Utica University Students Earn Valedictorian Honors
Undergraduate commencement ceremonies will be held on Thursday, May 12 at 5 p.m. at the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
With commencement just around the corner, Utica University has named two students with perfect 4.0 grade point averages as this year’s valedictorians.
Carissa Jade Andrews and Anna N. Jordan have both earned valedictorian honors.
Andrews graduates this spring with a bachelors degree in Psychology-Child Life. The Rome, NY native and graduate of Notre Dame Junior-Senior High School has served as a student tutor at Utica University, as well as a substitute teacher in the region. Upon graduation, Andrews will pursue a master’s degree in Special Education at Utica.
Jordan, graduating this spring with a bachelor’s degree in Health Studies, is a Candor, NY native, where she was homeschooled prior to attending Utica University. Throughout her time at Utica, Jordan has worked as a resident assistant, as well as a mentor to support disabled adults at the Kelberman Center. She has already transitioned into the master’s in Occupational Therapy program at Utica and will continue advanced coursework, anticipating completing her graduate degree in May 2023.
There is no salutatorian this year.
Undergraduate commencement ceremonies will be held on Thursday, May 12 at 5 p.m. at the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Tickets are needed to attend the ceremony.
