UC’s Alpha Chi Rho Getting Cold for the Cure
Let the warmth in your heart help the brothers make it through their cold week.
Utica College fraternity Alpha Chi Rho (AXP) will hold its annual “Deep Freeze” event March 1 through 6 to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The brothers will bundle up and chill out all week as they raise awareness and much-needed research funds for the organization.
Members of the fraternity will take turns camping in tents on the lawn behind Strebel Student Center for an entire week in conjunction with a series of events while also collecting donations.
The events this year will include Drag Day Monday at 9 a.m., S’mores with KDP Tuesday at 7 p.m., Candlelight Vigil Wednesday 5:30 p.m., Build A Snowman Thursday at 2 p.m., and Raffle, DJ, and Limbo Contest Friday all day. Students, faculty and community members are encouraged to visit the campsite throughout the week, while social distancing, to take part in these events.
Individuals can contribute to the cause by making a cash, Venmo, or Paypal donation in person at the campsite during the “Deep Freeze.” You can also donate through the relay for life page at https://mobileacs.org/5vjvj. Let the warmth in your heart help the brothers make it through their cold week.
