Utica University Welcomes 456 on Move-In Day
With new students arriving, so are new opportunities.
Utica University is proud to welcome its first class of incoming freshmen! On Tuesday, August 23, a total of 456 freshmen and 100 transfer students moved onto campus.
With new students arriving, so are new opportunities. Opening in early November, the Nexus Center will begin its partnership with Utica University, where sports management students will be given the opportunity to gain real hands-on experience working in an athletic facility. Sports management is currently listed as the 6th largest industry across the country, indicating a need for skilled professionals.
While off-campus experience is crucial, so are the classes that students take. The recently-adopted GenEd requirements at Utica University allow students to take more electives in their area of interest. There are themed pathways that students can choose from.
In addition, Utica University’s Esports Club leveled up. Having just joined the East Coast Conference (ECC) Esports, a new state-of-the-art Esports center was constructed on campus. Located in Bull Hall, the new center consists of 30 computer stations with desktop gaming stations, a main stage, and seating for announcers and spectators. Games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, Valorant, Overwatch, and League of Legends are played with more to come on the horizon.
