Young Scholars to Host Annual “Grow Big Dreams” Celebration Fundraiser
Young Scholars Alumnus Stephon Hamell to Give Keynote Speech
Utica College’s Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program will host its 5th annual “Grow Big Dreams” Celebration Dinner on Tuesday, March 31 at 5 p.m. in the Library Concourse.
The keynote speaker for this event is Stephon Hamell, Ph.D., assistant dean for academic and student affairs at Georgetown University. Hamell was a member of the Young Scholars class of 2007. After earning his bachelor's degree from Utica College, Hamell earned his masters from Buffalo State University College and his doctorate from the University of Rochester.
The celebration dinner, which is open to the public, is generally attended by currently enrolled Young Scholars students, alumni, donors and sponsors. Tickets are $65 per person or $520 for a table of eight. Reservations for tables and tickets must be made by Friday, March 20. There will be a buffet dinner, cash bar and a basket raffle. Sponsor and program advertisement artwork should be submitted by Friday, March 6.

Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program is a multi-year collaborative project, established in 1993 with Utica College and the Utica City School District. The program is designed by education professionals to motivate diverse and talented students to stay in school, earn a New York Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation, graduate college and be career ready. Young Scholars students participate in a comprehensive program which provides academic, social and cultural enrichment.
